rendered in gold filigree display letterforms. The shapes come first and stay clean: elegant capitals of moderately wide proportion and even weight, simple outlines with no fine detail of their own, generous even spacing so every letter stands detached and legible, and wide open counters. Within that outline, and only within it, each stroke is not solid but an openwork lace of fine round gold wire: one continuous heavier wire runs around the stroke and holds its shape, while inside it finer wires are bent into tight spirals, scrolls and teardrop curls packed against one another, soldered where they touch and studded with small round granules at the junctions. Open gaps are left between the curls so the background shows through the stroke. Every wire is round in section and carries a thin bright highlight along its length, with shadow beneath where it lifts away from its neighbour. The wirework stays inside the stroke: it never strays past the outer wire, never fills the counters solid and never blurs the letter shape. The typographic language of filigree jewellery, wirework monograms and engraved keepsake boxes — delicate, ornate, precious. the kind of Nutcracker-themed Christmas party invitation or poster a family actually sends for a holiday ballet night. GRAPHIC LANGUAGE: a theatrical, storybook composition — nutcracker soldier figures standing guard at the sides, a ballet stage arch or ornate gilded frame with velvet curtains, garlands, ribbons, candy and toy-like details framing a central panel for the words. LIGHT: warm stage light with a soft golden glow from the centre, gentle vignette at the edges. COLOUR: rich crimson red and deep emerald green with antique gold trim, cream for the text panel; a soft pink and pastel variant is allowed.
