"SPRING CUP" es un cartel del torneo de karate del Kaizen Dojo el 12 de abril, en estilo irezumi japonés. Las letras negras de pincel seco quedan entre un dragón verde y un tigre naranja, rodeadas de olas azules, flores de cerezo, peonías y hojas de arce, con un pergamino de fecha abajo. A karate dojo tournament poster in the style of a Japanese irezumi back-piece design, hand-drawn and woodblock-printed on cream washi paper with subtle print grain, flat even daylight, no glow, no cast shadows. One dense composition fills the whole portrait frame edge to edge. On the left, a coiling jade-green dragon with gold belly scales, vermilion mane and whiskers, and bold black outlines rises from the lower left. On the right, an orange tiger with thick black stripes, a cream chest and bold black outlines crouches from the lower right. Their heads face each other across the middle of the frame, glaring eye to eye through stylised swirling clouds with curled indigo edges and gold-tinged cream interiors. Behind them are dense curling indigo wind bars, black shading graded smoothly into the bars, and crashing indigo waves with claw-like foam tips along the bottom. Peonies in pink and vermilion, cherry blossoms and falling red maple leaves fill the gaps. Top tier: a small cream cartouche with black outline at the top centre reads 'KAIZEN DOJO KARATE TOURNAMENT' in small bold black brush capitals. Centre tier: a massive title 'SPRING CUP' in two stacked lines across the middle, between the two beasts' heads. It is set in heavy, condensed, forceful shodo brush letterforms with abrupt entries and sword-cut tapering exits. The letters are sumi black with a thin vermilion inner edge and a cream outline separating them from the artwork. Bottom tier: a cream scroll-shaped cartouche with black outline over the waves reads 'APRIL 12' in bold black brush capitals, with 'KAIZEN DOJO' beneath in smaller vermilion brush capitals. Saturated traditional pigments: vermilion, deep indigo, jade green, golden yellow, peony pink, with bare cream as the highlights.
