Japanese traditional irezumi tattoo design in black and grey only, on a plain flat off-white paper ground with no texture and no scene. One large oni mask is the centrepiece, shown frontal and slightly tilted, in a tall oval silhouette sized for an upper arm. Heavy brows are knotted in a fierce frown. Deep-set eyes have round pupils. A wide snarling mouth shows two long curved fangs and square teeth. Two curled horns rise from the forehead and sweep outward. Wild flowing hair rolls back in thick, clean strands. Every contour is a bold, even black outline with open, readable shapes. Facial planes are shaded with smooth graded grey wash, from solid black in the eye sockets and mouth interior, through mid grey on cheeks and brow, to bare paper left as the highlights on the forehead, nose bridge and fang tips. Around the mask, towering storm clouds in classic Japanese scroll style fill the space: thick curling cloud banks with bold black outlines and spiral edges, and layered wind bars sweeping diagonally. Black shading fades from dense behind the mask out to light grey and then to bare paper at the outer edge. Two or three jagged lightning bolts with sharp angular zigzags and a white core cut through the clouds beside and behind the mask. They are outlined in black with dark grey graded around them, and they do not cover the face. Curled wave-like cloud tips with claw-shaped ends give movement. The whole composition forms one compact vertical shape that fades softly into the plain ground at the edges, with a safe margin on all sides. Line weight is thick enough, and gaps between shapes wide enough, to stencil and survive as a tattoo. Flat hand-drawn woodblock-print graphic, even light, no cast shadows, no colour, no text, no lettering, no photorealism, no gang symbols.
