Dense curling indigo and cream wind bars, stylised clouds and crashing waves with curled claw-like foam tips fill the gaps around it. Pink peonies and a few falling maple leaves accent the base. Below the artwork, centred on the shirt, is the word "BUSHIDO" in extremely heavy, compressed, squat Japanese battle-brush calligraphy letters, in cream-white ink with abrupt forceful ink-pressed entries, sword-cut tapering exits and dry-brush streaks inside the strokes. It is about 55% of the print width, with a thin vermilion brush underline. The print is crisp, the colours saturated against the black cotton, with no glow and no cast shadows other than natural fabric shadow.
