"HALLOWEEN GREETINGS"

rendered in retro slab serif display letterforms with the bold square character of mid-century American advertising type — uniform heavy stroke weight with no significant thick-thin contrast, strokes terminating in thick square slab serifs of equal or greater width than the stroke itself. Letter proportions are wide and sturdy. The overall construction suggests letterpress printing on thick paper with slight ink spread at edges giving a characteristic pressure impression effect. The typographic language of 1950s American roadside advertising, Western movie poster typography, vintage circus posters, old-school barber shop signage, and retro diner menus — bold, square, quintessentially mid-century American. The whole picture is a 1930s–1950s paper Halloween decoration or greeting postcard, the kind people frame or print as vintage wall decor. GRAPHIC LANGUAGE: old die-cut Halloween decoration layout — a grinning jack-o-lantern, a black cat with an arched back, a witch on a broomstick across a crescent moon, autumn leaves framing the edges. LIGHT: flat printed light, no photographic depth. COLOUR: limited three-colour print in orange, black and cream. TEXTURE: aged yellowed paper, halftone dots, slightly misregistered colour plates, soft worn creases. A vintage Halloween greeting postcard: 'Halloween Greetings' in a banner across the upper middle, the jack-o-lantern, black cat and witch-on-moon arranged around it, aged paper edges.
