Every style in this generator is built from a different Unicode block, and that's precisely why compatibility varies. Bold (the only 'high' compatibility style here) uses characters from the Mathematical Alphanumeric Symbols block (U+1D400–U+1D7FF), which major OS vendors — Google, Apple, Microsoft — have included in system fonts for years. Styles like Cursive, Bold Gothic, Gothic, Double-struck, Bubble, Bold Italic, Small Caps, and Fullwidth all draw from the same broad block or adjacent well-supported ranges; they're rated 'medium' because the vast majority of modern devices render them correctly, but support is not universal. The two 'risky' styles — Cursive Flourish and Squared — use less common Unicode ranges (decorative script variants and enclosed alphanumeric squares) that many stock Android fonts and some older iOS versions simply don't include, causing those characters to appear as blank boxes (called 'tofu') to viewers on those devices. The high-compatibility filter solves this by hiding the risky styles, leaving only the eight medium- and one high-compatibility options visible, so your bio or username looks intentional — not broken — for the widest possible audience.
