A Japanese irezumi tattoo design for a full back piece, drawn as a flat hand-inked woodblock-style illustration on plain cream washi paper, with no text anywhere. One huge dragon coils in a tall S-curve down the canvas. Its head sits at upper right, with open jaws, long whiskers, flowing mane, curved horns, bulging eyes and one clawed foot reaching forward gripping a pearl. The long serpentine body loops through the middle, covered in clearly drawn overlapping scales with a row of spines along the back. The tail tapers to a flicking tip at lower left. Every shape has bold, even, solid black outlines with a thick-to-thin brush feel. Scales and claws are separated by wide, open gaps so the drawing traces cleanly. Colour: deep jade-green scales with vermilion belly plates, golden-yellow claws, horns and pearl, and indigo-blue mane and fins. Black shading grades smoothly from dense at the body edges into the background by fine parallel lines, with bare cream left as highlights. Around the dragon, stylised clouds with spiralling curled edges in indigo and cream drift between the body loops. Long curling wind bars in black and grey sweep in tapering bands, with a few crashing waves with claw-like foam tips at the bottom corners. Two or three large vermilion and pink peonies with dark green leaves sit near the lower coil and upper left. A few falling maple leaves are scattered between them. The composition fills the central 80% of the canvas and fades out into clean open cream paper at the edges, with a safe margin all round. Flat, even daylight, no cast shadows, no glow, no photorealism, with subtle woodblock-print grain in the flat colours. Avoid swallows, banners, nautical stars, teardrops, numerals and any lettering.
