A widescreen synthwave illustration with no headline: two astronauts float toward each other, linked by a glowing neon cable. Behind them a striped magenta-orange sun sets over a purple neon grid floor, wireframe mountains, palm silhouettes and a starry nebula sky. Remake it as a banner or card by adding your own title, names or date in the open sky above the grid and between the astronauts.

Create one finished 2:1 horizontal image designed to be divided exactly down the vertical center into two equal square profile pictures. The left and right squares must each read as a complete, polished avatar when viewed alone and inside a circular crop. Place one astronaut entirely within the center-safe area of each square, with both helmeted faces clearly visible and centered in their own square; never let a head, face, body, or helmet cross the center seam. The astronauts float toward one another, bodies angled inward, with welcoming, gently reaching poses. Join their suits with one clearly visible glowing tether that travels across the center seam as the only element that crosses it; make the tether curve gracefully between them without obscuring either face. Build a vivid 1980s synthwave / retrowave space scene around them: a rich purple-to-indigo star field, a huge striped retro sun near the shared horizon, and a glowing neon perspective grid receding beneath the astronauts. Include restrained distant wireframe mountain silhouettes and tiny palm silhouettes at the far horizon. Keep the setting simple enough that the two astronauts dominate at small avatar size. The two halves share one coherent scene, palette, and light, but each remains visually complete on its own. Light the scene entirely with the impossible sunset: cool cyan high in the sky, hot magenta through the middle, and warm orange-red low at the horizon. Wrap every suit and helmet in distinct cyan and magenta rim light. Give helmet visors and suit details glossy reflective surfaces catching the sunset gradient, with a bright thin horizontal chrome-like highlight at the horizon. Keep the astronauts' faces readable behind softly reflective visors. Rich saturated colors, luminous edges, soft neon bloom, deep violet shadows, a few crisp stars, subtle VHS grain, fine horizontal scanlines, and gentle chromatic fringing only on high-contrast edges. No words, letters, numbers, logos, badges, or captions. No extra characters, no busy scenery, no split face or body, and no other element crossing the center seam. Square-safe composition on both sides; bold, simple shapes and strong face contrast for tiny profile-picture viewing.
